Our hard work paid off March 10th, 2000 we released our sixth studio album, “Blur”, our bright shining star and the building block for many more years of creating and performing music.Īfter more than a decade of playing, recording, and crisscrossing the US in assorted vans, recreational vehicles and busses, Wakeland played a final show on NYE of 2004. While on Giant we released our third album “Magnetic” as we toiled in the studio over our next release. Successful enough that we were signed to a major label record deal by Giant Records, a subsidiary of Warner Bros. Both were very successful independent releases. In the following years we recorded our first two albums “Wanting” in 1992 and “To See The Sun” in 1994.

As we evolved from a cover band our live audiences grew. During our career we have had a few changes at bass player… but, the core of our band has been constant since 2001: Brad Heinrichs (guitar and vocals), Chris Sullivan (vocals and guitar), Chris Greenley (bass), and Shane Litsch (drums). The three of us, Brad, Chris and Shane, have been together throughout this rollercoaster ride. Little did we know this would be the start of a ten plus year career for all of us. Those songs soon evolved into six songs and led to our first recorded EP Cassette, “Nothing Lasts Forever”. We were content playing covers and partying at first… but as our crowds grew we began to work up original material. At the time we were just a group of friends getting together to play some music. The most enjoyable part of everyday was having the opportunity to visit with the patrons, alot of them were regulars and became a part of family to me.We started out in 1990 in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

To be real honest there was not a hard part of the job requirements unless other coworkers did not show up for their shift and therefore had to take care of all patrons and drink stations of the entire casino. I beleive that all work place s have difference in personalities and you do not always like everyone but you are a team and make the best effort to stay professional to represent the company. The management that I dealt with were very fair and very family oriented. I learned that if a patron was not having a great day or possible even dealing with a an emotional personal matter that you can create a fun experience for them and possibly just letting them vent their frustrations. A typical day at work would consist of making sure the assigned drink stations were well stocked and very presentible for patrons if they chose the self serve.
